The author maintains that through decades Israel has adopted illegal, apartheid style measures in the Occupied Territories (settlements, highways, land confiscation, economic siege, house destruction…) in violation of Human Rights Conventions, the IV Geneva Convention and all U.N. Resolutions. As an example, he mentions Qalqilia, a major Palestinian city, that is surrounded on three sides by the Wall built on confiscated Palestinian lands. Its aquifers provide almost half of the water needs of the West Bank and will remain within the Israeli side of the Wall. Its main income is agriculture but its cultivable lands have been destroyed for “security reasons”, with many of its inhabitants obliged to move elsewhere in Palestine or abroad.
