Abstract

VAt present, developmental psychopathology is considered to be the dominant paradigm in psychopathological research. The discipline is development has had quite an impact on the research of mental disorder risk factors, giving way to the generation of more process like approaches focusing attention not only on the identification of these factors but also on the comprehension of their ways of behaving. This paper analyzes some of the challenges developmental psychopathology has to cope with at present and introduces two models in the search of achieving a more process like understanding of the psychosocial determinants in children and pre-teenagers psychopathology.
