Variable influencing attachment and adjustement in adopted children

Abstract

The purpose of this paper was to review attachment characteristics in adopted children and the factors that influence their adjustment. Research findings allow us to describe two different kinds of processes in children adopted in their carly childhood as opposed to children adopted during later years.

Desirable personality features of parents are described, and the conditions expected in order to promote good attachment relationships.
